I will try to answer the common questions on Singapore 14-days quarantine at SHN Dedicated Facilities. All the information here is based on my experience on my SINGAPORE SHN EXPERIENCE AT HOTEL JEN ORCHARDGATEWAY SDF.
If you are coming from a high-risk country, you will be subjected to 14-days Quarantine at SDF. The FAQ below will apply to you. This article is mainly for Returning Citizens / Residents who are eligible to enter Singapore.
Arrival to SG
Q: Do they allow you to choose the hotel?
Not at all. It was a random hotel.
However, I received an information that you can choose for better hotel (Suite booking) now as of 6 April 2021. More information here (https://safetravel.ica.gov.sg/health/shn/sdfupgrade).

Q: Does the class of flying affect your hotel decision?
Sadly, it does not. In this case, I took Singapore Airlines Business Class but I had to wait for Economy Class passengers and some people from other flights as well.
Q: Can you take our own transport to hotel?
Definitely not, you have to take the bus provided by the government.
In and Out of SHN Dedicated Facilities (SDF)
Q: Do they allow to go out of hotel room / premises?
Not at all. The hotel gave a one-time use key. That means you can only use the card once, therefore it is strictly illegal. In fact, it is a punishable offense based on the SHN rule.
Q: If the hotel only gave a one-time use key, then how can I go for the mandatory swab test?
I did the swab test at the hotel itself, and once I completed your test, the hotel will provide a new one-time use key to enter the room.
Q: When is the mandatory PCR Swab Test?
The mandatory swab test is on the 10th day based on my experience. However, always check your phone for SMS, and the hotel reception will call you for the PCR Swab Test reminder.
Q: When will the PCR Swab Test result come out?
I received the result on the 12th day.
Cost of SHN
Q: Is the SHN free? Are the meals free?
It was free of charge at that time because I have not enter Singapore since 23 March 2020. Unfortunately, it is no longer free. The standard cost of the 14-day SDF stay for a single traveller, is $2,000, and it includes meals and GST.
Q: What is the cost if I have travel companion? (e.g. Couple)
There will be varying additional costs payable for groups requesting to share an SDF room, and these costs will be made known during the entry approval application process. I tried quoting for an extra person, I received quote of additional $600 (incl GST). This covers meal and the stay.
Delivery of items / food
Q: Do your friends allowed to visit and deliver items?
Definitely not. You will not meet any one from outside. However, the items or food can be passed to the concierge with your room number, and then delivered to your room.
Q: Can you order delivery service / food from Lazada / Shopee / Qoo10 / Grab / Foodpanda / Deliveroo?
Yes you can. Just note your room number to the address of the hotel in the delivery address.
