Singapore Border Open: New Rule for Non-VTL Travellers Arriving Update

Singapore border open with more relax requirements, no more on-arrival tests. The new rule will take effect from 8 January 2022.

Singapore will ease COVID-19 measures for travellers outside the vaccinated travel lane (VTL) arrangement.

Travellers from Category 2 and Category 3 countries will need to serve stay-home notice at home for seven and 10 days respectively. However, those from Category 4 countries need to serve 10 days at a dedicated facility.

Singapore Border Update: Category 4 Countries

Requirements:

  1. Pre-Departure Antigen-Rapid Test (ART) or Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Test within 2 days before departure for Singapore
  2. 10-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) at dedicated SHN facilities.
  3. SHN exit PCR test

All other countries not mentioned above will belong to this category.

Conclusion

We hope that the year 2022 will be a year of rapid recovery of air travel in Asia. While the rapid infection of Omicron is high, the death rate remains low. Therefore, we hope this is just a small hurdle onto recovery.
