India VTL is the recent addition for Singapore’s Vaccinated Travel Lane list along with Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

Indonesia VTL and India VTL will firstly start from 29 November 2021. This date particularly coincides with other previously announced Malaysia VTL.

Afterwards Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE will start their VTL from 6 December 2021.

Without a doubt, this is a surprising move because India was nowhere near Category 3 one month ago.

India are in fact progressing well in handling the pandemic. Therefore Singapore aim to resume two daily VTL flights each from Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai by 29 November 2021.

At this point we do not know yet which flight belongs to Vaccinated Travel Lane flight.

You can find below the Singapore classifications by countries.

Important to realize that Emirates and Etihad Airways will definitely not want to lose some shares in the market.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I’m happy as long as there are additions to the VTL scheme. This subsequently means that International Travel is in the recovery phase. As a result, Singapore Airlines reported that they achieved at least 30% of pre-COVID passenger numbers.
