Firstly, factorydesign has never collaborated with SIA before. This is their first time having such collaboration.
SIA acquired these aircrafts due to their recent merger with SilkAir. Additionally, they are planning for a total fleet of 37 Boeing 737 MAXs in the coming years.

Singapore Airlines Flat Bed on Regional Boeing 737 MAX 8
This is without a doubt a massive upgrade. Compared to the previous Business Class seat, your miles surely worth more value. Here is the image from the official website as reference for example.
The new seat features a fully flat bed, unlike the recliner on Boeing 737-800 counterpart. We have extensive coverage coupled with images here.

The layout is certainly a new and unorthodox one. In this case, it sports a 2-2, 1-1, 2-2 like the image below as an illustration for the J class.

Singapore Airlines has not confirmed the launch routes for the 737-8 MAX yet at the moment.
In addition they are telling us that regulatory requirements and border openings would dictate the rollout, with service entry in the coming weeks.
