Singapore VTL Panic: Post-Arrival Tests Day 3 & 7 for Omicron Variants

Singapore VTL imposed the Post-Arrival Tests on Day 3 and 7 yet again due to Omicron Variants of Concern. Firstly when VTL launched, Singapore imposed the dreaded Day 3 and 7 tests for VTL travellers.

This is a day after Singapore pulled back on the middle east VTL.

These measures will enable us to minimise importation and allow prompt detection and isolation of Omicron cases.

You will specifically need to do the test at QUICK TEST CENTRES (QTCs)

Additionally, VTL travellers will need to book beforehand through the link here.

The test will be self-administered and supervised by an approved COVID-19 test provider.

Additionally, the results are valid for 24 hours may be used to meet requirements such as those for pre-event testing or for an unvaccinated person to dine-in at food and beverage establishments.

The test will cost $15 (inclusive of GST), with payment to be made at the QTCs through cashless mode such as Mastercard, NETS, PayNow and Visa.

Conclusion

We do not like any retreat of policy especially for Singapore VTL Post-Arrival rule. However, with the variants of concern, we would not want to go back to the pre-VTL era. We must respect the authority’s decision for tightening of the borders.
