The biggest question by all Singaporeans: When will Singapore start Japan VTL?
Singapore’s Vaccinated Travel Lane allows foreigners to enter Singapore without mandatory quarantine.
Japan is without a doubt one of the most popular choice of destination. Most can’t wait to enjoy the Mount Fuji and a ride in a Shinkansen.
UPDATE 29 November 2021: One rather bad news, Japan in fact are closing their border again over Omicron variant.
Personally, I have viewed many people have questioned on this VTL through the Instagram Stories after more and more VTL were being established.
Recently Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was in a phone call with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida. Subsequently, there is no action as of now yet.
However, initially we believe that the commencement of Japan VTL is imminent. We don’t know yet as of now, but we are less than confident that Singapore will establish Japan VTL by December 2021. Reopening in 2022 is subsequently more feasible.
Prime Minister Lee said that Singapore looked forward to deepening cooperation with Japan in areas where both countries share common interest, including the safe resumption of travel, digitalisation and the digital economy.
